2024-06-06
"Every word on the ribbon starts from the last stroke." At Taojiang School in Longnan City, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, Liao Qiuhua, the inheritor of the weaving skills of the Longnan Hakka Winter Headband, a municipal intangible cultural heritage project, taught students how to weave ribbons hand in hand. In March 2023, Liao Qiuhua was hired as a skills mentor at Jiangxi Environmental Engineering Vocational College, marking the first time that Longnan Hakka ribbon weaving skills have entered university classrooms and become a professional course in universities. To further promote the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage skills, Longnan City has established the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Association and established a modern apprenticeship system. As of now, Longnan has established 15 non genetic training centers in townships, and built 9 intangible cultural heritage inheritance points in traditional villages, training more than 1600 intangible cultural heritage talents annually. In addition, Longnan City has also established the Hakka Intangible Cultural Heritage College, cooperating with higher education institutions, academic institutions, and cultural enterprises, hiring experts and scholars, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, and business leaders as guest teachers to carry out research, teaching, and product development of intangible cultural heritage. At the same time, Longnan City has implemented a dedicated position mechanism for intangible cultural heritage inheritors, attracting qualified intangible cultural heritage inheritors to join, equipping several intangible cultural heritage inheritor positions in scenic areas, regularly showcasing intangible cultural heritage skills, and promoting the establishment of intangible cultural heritage technology process research and development institutions for intangible cultural heritage enterprises. At present, more than 65% of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in the city are hired to corresponding intangible cultural heritage enterprises and institutions to engage in related work.
