This network is the National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure - Future Network Experimental Facility (CENI), with a total length of 34000 kilometers, covering 40 major cities in China, with 40 backbone network nodes and 133 edge network nodes. It is a "highway" for information transmission. Why build this website? How is the performance of this network? The reporter came to Jiangsu Future Network Group, which is engaged in the operation and industrialization of future network testing facilities, for an interview. At present, the Internet is accelerating its development to thousands of industries, and the intelligent development of industrial manufacturing, scientific and technological innovation, urban governance, transportation and other fields puts forward higher requirements for computing power and data transmission. "For example, in the fields of industrial Internet and intelligent manufacturing, we need to significantly reduce the delay of data transmission; Cross regional scheduling of computing power requires a significant improvement in data transmission efficiency and a reduction in transmission costs Ye Yingchun, Executive Vice General Manager of Jiangsu Future Network Group, said that the original network architecture is difficult to meet the needs, and it is urgent to build a new, autonomous and controllable network architecture. The future network testing facilities have emerged based on such needs. The facility was approved in 2016, led by Jiangsu Future Network Innovation Research Institute, and jointly constructed by Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, and Shenzhen Institute of Telecommunications. It will officially provide experimental services to the society in 2021. During the construction process, the R&D team overcame a series of key core technologies, enabling future network testing facilities to have "minute level" on-demand customized network service capabilities, "microsecond level" deterministic service capabilities, "tens of millions of cloud switching service capabilities, and" TB level "intelligent drive security network protection capabilities. "In short, compared to traditional networks, our network has better transmission performance, higher propagation efficiency, and is also more secure." Ye Yingchun said. It is reported that future network testing facilities have now provided private network services to industries such as industry, transportation, and energy, and also provide end-to-end high throughput, low latency, low jitter, and high reliability network transmission services for multiple large scientific devices. In addition, as a new generation network scientific research and test platform, the future network test facilities can also meet the country's test verification needs for major scientific and technological projects such as the next-generation Internet, cyberspace security, and the heaven and earth integrated network. At present, more than 110 units have collected 130 test needs. "Nanjing will give full play to the advantages of network test facilities in the future, accelerate the development of related technologies and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and widely apply them in the fields of industrial Internet and satellite interconnection in the Yangtze River Delta."
