On June 2nd, the seminar on "Building Modern Civilization of the Chinese Nation" hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was held in Beijing. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended and delivered a keynote speech. The attending guests expressed that the modern civilization of the Chinese nation, which connects tradition and modernity, the past and the future, is a magnificent historical process and a goal vision that inspires progress. We must adhere to the "two combinations", promote the chemical and physical chemistry of the Party's innovative theoretical system, and continuously open up new horizons for the sinicization and modernization of Marxism. To enhance academic innovation capabilities, we should base ourselves on Chinese fields, study Chinese reality, develop Chinese theory, draw on beneficial academic achievements from abroad, cultivate a high-level team of social science talents, and accelerate the construction of China's independent knowledge system.
