Li Qiang Meets with Malaysia's First Deputy Prime Minister Zahid

Li Qiang stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, they have always adhered to mutual respect and equal treatment, and steadfastly developed friendly relations from the fundamental and long-term interests of both countries.  
Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Malaysia, implement the key cooperation projects of the "the Belt and Road", tap the potential of cooperation in emerging fields such as the digital economy and new energy vehicles, expand the scale of trade, further tighten the ties of cooperation, and make a big win-win cake. Both sides should carry out more exchanges and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, youth, and other humanities, and make progress together through mutual learning of civilizations. China is willing to strengthen multilateral cooperation with Malaysia, maintain the correct direction of East Asian cooperation, and effectively safeguard the hard won good development environment in the region.
Zahid expressed that Malaysia appreciates China's timely and strong help in responding to the COVID-19, and is willing to jointly hold the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China, further deepen cooperation in economy and trade, investment, vocational education, sustainable development and other fields, enhance people to people and cultural exchanges, and promote the continuous development of Malaysia China comprehensive strategic partnership. The Malaysian side firmly adheres to the One China policy, condemns all forms of "fear of China", and Malaysia China relations are not subject to any interference or influence from external forces. The Malaysian side is committed to advancing the consultation on the "Code of Conduct in the South China Sea", and any extraterritorial forces attempting to cause trouble in the South China Sea will not succeed. The Malaysian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to further deepen coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs.
