On May 24th, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, the United Nations Security Council voted on a draft resolution emphasizing the protection of humanitarian personnel. The resolution received support from 14 out of 15 members of the Security Council. Russia abstains. The resolution requires all countries and parties to armed conflicts to respect international humanitarian law in all circumstances; Require all parties to armed conflicts to abide by their obligations under international law, including the obligation to protect humanitarian personnel, United Nations personnel, and related personnel.
