Guangdong Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court releases a white paper on the trial of labor dispute cases

Recently, the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court in Guangdong Province held a press conference and released the "Guangzhou Court Labor Dispute Case Trial White Paper and Typical Cases (2021-2023)". According to the white paper, between 2021 and 2023, Guangzhou's two levels of courts concluded a total of 57000 labor dispute cases. Among them, the subjects of labor disputes are becoming increasingly diverse, with an increase in disputes involving middle and senior management personnel, high-tech professionals, and over aged migrant workers; Labor dispute claims involve a wide range of aspects, and the complexity of litigation claims is obvious. Parties often assert their rights on multiple claims in the same case, and the number of cases involving a single litigation claim is very small. According to the white paper, in recent years, Guangzhou courts have actively promoted the governance of labor dispute sources, innovatively carrying out labor dispute prevention in the front end, improvement in the middle end, and consolidation at the end. By building a "court+" dispute resolution platform, creating a "mediation+" dispute resolution model, and strengthening "smart+" dispute resolution services, they have gradually built a labor dispute source governance service network. Currently, they have collaborated with 138 units to build a "court+" dispute resolution pattern and continue to increase the efforts of dispute source governance. From 2021 to 2023, Guangzhou courts introduced pre litigation mediation procedures for 98000 labor dispute cases, with a pre litigation resolution rate of 51.08%. (Lai Xin She)
