In the month of Mengxia, the sky is clear and clear. Recently, the well-known Chinese famous song "Jasmine Flower" and Hungarian famous song "Chaldash Dance" were played in the National Music Hall of the China Conservatory of Music. On stage, the melodious rhythm of the Chinese yangqin and the gentle and deep tone of the Hungarian zimbal complement each other, giving these two classic pieces new charm. Amidst enthusiastic applause from the audience, Hungarian yangist and President of the World Yangqin Association, Herrensa, along with Chinese yangqin performer, Chairman of the Yangqin Professional Committee of the Chinese National Orchestra Society, and Vice Chairman of the World Yangqin Association, Li Lingling, walked hand in hand to greet the audience. At this moment, the yangqin tightly connected two artists and two countries from the East and West. The yangqin is an international instrument that combines a wide range of global and distinct national characteristics. The Chinese yangqin, along with the Hungarian grand yangqin, zimbal, and other similar instruments in the world, share the same family of musical instruments. They are rooted in different cultural soils and have evolved into national instruments that people of various countries are proud of. Hungary is a nation from the East, with a natural sense of closeness to the Chinese nation, and the friendship between the two peoples has a profound foundation. In the golden autumn of 1991, the World Yangqin Association was registered and established in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and successfully held the first World Yangqin Conference. Professor Xiang Zuhua, the first generation yangqin artist in New China, along with his beloved disciple and Ms. Li Lingling, a professor of yangqin at the China Conservatory of Music, was invited to represent China as a founding member of the World Yangqin Association. At the meeting, Professor Xiang Zuhua was elected as the Vice President of the World Yangqin Association and took the lead in proposing the concept of dividing the world yangqin into three major systems: the European yangqin, the West Asia South Asian yangqin, and the Chinese yangqin. This event has established the important position of the Chinese yangqin in the world yangqin family, and opened a new era of artistic exchange between China and Hungary. For over 30 years, the art circles of the Chinese and Hungarian yangqin have had unprecedented active and frequent exchanges, continuously deepening their artistic understanding through cooperation forms such as concerts, master courses, and music creation. Chinese and Hungarian yangqin artists frequently appear in friendly activities between the two countries, becoming a glue for cultural exchanges and a driving force for people to people communication, constantly adding bricks and tiles to the friendly and cooperative relationship between China and Hungary, and laying a solid foundation for public opinion. After more than ten years of accumulation and development, the Chinese yangqin music school is unique, and the Chinese yangqin system continues to grow. Under the active application and initiative of multiple generations of yangqin artists, represented by teachers and students majoring in yangqin at the China Conservatory of Music, the 8th World Yangqin Conference in 2005 and the 15th World Yangqin Conference in 2019 were successfully held in cities in China. Since the beginning of this year, Chinese audiences have had the opportunity to participate in and witness a series of high-level yangqin art exchange activities, such as the "Yangqin Night" China Hungary Yangqin Exchange Performance held at the Beijing Hungarian Cultural Center, the Hungarian Yangqin Master Class, Lectures, and the "China Hungary Yangqin Art Exchange Concert" held at the China Conservatory of Music, and so on. During this period, yangqin artists from China and Hungary efficiently completed rehearsals in a short period of time and performed multiple exciting performances together. This is not only a vivid example of the integration of world ethnic music and culture, but also a showcase of the profound friendship and long-term exchange and cooperation between artists from China and Hungary.
