2024-05-21

Recently, a remote health and wellness inspection team from Huailai County, Hebei Province visited Xicheng District, Beijing and signed strategic cooperation agreements with four streets: Desheng, Xichang'an Street, Xinjiekou, and Zhanzhan Road. As of now, 15 streets in Xicheng District, Beijing have signed remote health and wellness strategic agreements with governments or civil affairs departments of 19 cities and counties in Hebei Province, providing more diverse options for elderly people to cross city elderly care. In recent years, cross city and cross province elderly care has gradually become a new choice for more and more elderly people. These elderly people have left their original place of residence and moved to cities and counties with good surrounding environments and lower living costs, either for long-term living or short-term health care, opening up a new mode of elderly care. The rise of cross city elderly care models reflects new changes in the current characteristics of elderly care needs. With the development of the economy and society, the economic strength, education level, and health status of the new generation of elderly people are relatively high, and correspondingly, they attach more importance to the quality of life. New types of elderly care methods such as cross city elderly care and residential elderly care, which are more in line with the desire for high-quality elderly care, are naturally increasingly favored by the elderly. The elderly choose "cross city elderly care" because on the one hand, they value cost-effectiveness and hope to enjoy better elderly care services and environment at lower costs; On the other hand, the development gap between urban and rural areas has further narrowed, and the integration level of regions such as Beijing Tianjin Hebei and the Yangtze River Delta has improved. This has also made living in different places more comfortable and convenient, solving many worries for the elderly population who prefer close distance cross city elderly care. The Beijing Tianjin Hebei region has a large population, a fast growth rate of elderly population, and an aging level higher than the national average, resulting in a huge demand for elderly care services. In recent years, the three regions of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei have made deepening the coordinated development of elderly care services an important part of promoting the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. They have actively explored diversified elderly care methods, accelerated the balanced development of public services, focused on solving regional elderly care difficulties and blockages, and achieved significant results in balancing regional elderly care resource allocation. According to the data from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, by the end of 2023, the elderly care institutions in Hebei Province had received nearly 5000 Beijing Tianjin registered residence elderly, nearly 40000 Beijing Tianjin registered residence elderly who came to Hebei communities for retirement, and 590000 Beijing Tianjin registered residence elderly came to Hebei for retirement. Nowadays, cross city elderly care has become a new fashion for elderly care in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, and the coordinated development of elderly care services has become an important force driving the development of regional silver economy. The co construction and sharing of regional public services have improved the convenience of cross city elderly care. The accelerated integration of intercity transportation and public services has created conditions for the realization of cross city elderly care. Over the past decade, the transportation network in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region has become increasingly dense, with major cities forming a basic 1 to 1.5 hour transportation circle; Three regions have completely cancelled the registration of medical treatment in different locations, and more than 9000 designated medical institutions have directly settled outpatient fees for medical treatment in different locations, achieving "same city" medical treatment in different regions. In order to further meet the demand for integrated medical and elderly care services for the elderly, Hebei Province has proposed 18 support measures from eight aspects: supporting "medical care and elderly care", standardizing medical and elderly care contracts, and deepening cooperation with Beijing and Tianjin. 19 medical and elderly care integration institutions in Hebei Province have been included in the Beijing Medical and Elderly Care Integration Remote Collaborative Service Platform. Elderly people who are taking care of their elderly in Hebei's elderly care institutions can enjoy remote consultation, care guidance, and other services from Beijing Elderly Hospital without leaving their homes
