2024-05-21

The reporter learned from China Aerospace Science and Technology Group that at 11:06 am on May 20th, the Long March-2D carrier rocket ignited and took off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. Then, in a "one arrow, four stars" manner, it sent the Beijing 3C constellation into its designated orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. The Beijing 3C constellation is an optical remote sensing satellite developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, mainly used to provide high spatiotemporal resolution remote sensing satellite data. After the constellation is put into use, the four stars will operate in an equal phase network, providing support for areas such as land and resource management, agricultural resource investigation, ecological environment monitoring, and urban comprehensive applications. The Long March-2D carrier rocket is a two-stage liquid carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, which has the ability to launch single and multiple satellites with different orbital requirements. Previously, the Long March 2D carrier rocket had successfully launched the Beijing 3A and B satellites into their designated orbits. (Lai Xin She)
