Current President Abinadr announces victory in the Dominican presidential election

On the evening of the 19th, the current President of the Dominican Republic and candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party, Abinadr, announced at the campaign headquarters that he had won the first round of the presidential election held that day and was successfully re elected. The vote count conducted by the Dominican Election Commission on approximately 37% of the votes showed that Abinadr had a vote share of approximately 58%. Former President and People Power Party candidate Fernandez received approximately 28% of the vote, ranking second. Fernandez said on social media on the evening of the 19th that he had called Abinadel to congratulate him on winning the election and wished him a smooth future in power. Abinadir was born in the capital city of Santo Domingo in 1967 and won the presidential election as a candidate for the Modern Revolutionary Party in 2020. The presidential election will be held from 7:00 to 17:00 local time on the 19th, with a total of 9 candidates competing. The Dominican presidential election is held every four years.
