Farmers are using efficient agricultural machinery to harvest mature wheat, while ensuring the return of wheat grains to the warehouse, and preparing for the next crop of rice planting. "The wheat planted this year is all new varieties with high quality and lodging resistance. Due to good management and awesome and other factors, the average income per mu of land can be increased by about 500 yuan." Zhou Cong, a grain grower, said that rice will be planted as soon as possible after the wheat harvest is completed. "After the autumn harvest, we plan to continue expanding the scale of 'rice wheat rotation' and increase our income for the coming year." Tang Cheng, Deputy Director of the Grain Reserve Department of the State Administration of Grain and Material Reserves, introduced that it is preliminarily estimated that the purchase volume of summer grain in 2024 will be around 70 million tons, a slight increase from 2023, including about 63 million tons of wheat.
