China provides humanitarian assistance to Syria

The launching ceremony of the Syrian project of emergency and basic medical and humanitarian assistance projects (Lebanon, Palestine, Syria) in the context of the Red Cross Red Crescent COVID-19 was held in Damascus, the capital of Syria, on the 15th. This project will provide urgently needed humanitarian assistance in the healthcare sector to Syria. Chinese Ambassador to Syria, Shi Hongwei, stated at the ceremony that China has always firmly supported the development and reconstruction of Syria. This batch of assistance will include the construction of health clinics, distribution of food baskets, and a total of about 70000 Syrian people. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Syria and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind through practical actions. Khalid Habbati, the head of the Syrian Red Crescent Society, thanks the Chinese government for providing generous assistance to the Syrian people and hopes to strengthen cooperation with China to better benefit the Syrian people. Sonia Biyoclende, Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Syria, said that the project will strongly support the Syrian Red Crescent Society's construction of medical facilities in Syria and help families in urgent need of food aid.
