On the afternoon of May 16th, Premier Li Qiang met with Russian President Putin on a state visit to China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Qiang stated that in recent years, guided by the strategic plans of the two heads of state, China and Russia have always adhered to the principles of non alignment, non confrontation, and no targeting of third parties in developing bilateral relations. Practical cooperation in various fields has steadily advanced, and cultural and local exchanges have flourished. The social and public opinion foundation of friendship between the two countries has been increasingly consolidated, setting an example of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation among major powers. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. China is willing to work with Russia to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, consolidate and inherit friendship from generation to generation, continuously deepen cooperation in various fields, promote common development between China and Russia, better benefit the people of both countries, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to work with Russia to promote the docking and cooperation between the "the Belt and Road" construction and the Eurasian Economic Union in a deeper and more practical way, coordinate to promote regional integration and regional economic integration and development, continue to improve the level of trade liberalization and facilitation, and deepen cooperation in trade, energy, connectivity and other fields. Both sides should take the hosting of the "China Russia Cultural Year" as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in cultural tourism, sports, youth, healthcare and other fields, and continuously enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Putin stated that the establishment of Russia China relations is based on mutual equality, mutual benefit, and win-win, which is in line with the interests of both countries and their peoples. The current level of Russia China relations has reached its highest level. The Russian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to take the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure construction, to host the "Russo China Cultural Year", deepen cultural exchanges in education, culture, health, sports, youth, and other fields, and to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and China to a new level in the new era.
