Wang Haidong, Director of the Aging Health Department of the National Health Commission, stated at the meeting that the integration of medical care and elderly care refers to the combination of medical and health services and elderly care services. It is aimed at providing medical and health services to elderly people living at home, in communities, and in institutions, on the basis of daily care. For every elderly person, neither medical and health services nor elderly care services can be lacking. The integration of medical care and elderly care is an important way for China to actively respond to the aging population, and it is also an effective measure to meet the health and elderly care service needs of the elderly. In recent years, the National Health Commission has vigorously promoted the integration of medical care and elderly care, achieving positive results. Firstly, improve policy measures. Incorporate the integration of medical care and elderly care into important documents and plans, and promote it at a high level. At the same time, specific policy measures have been formulated, such as the introduction of specific policies for home community services, institutional services, medical and elderly care connections, and service supervision. Supporting policies have also been formulated for finance and taxation, pricing, land, medical insurance, investment and financing, providing policy support for the development of medical and elderly care integration. Secondly, expand service supply. Four mature models of integrated medical and elderly care services have been formed. Firstly, medical and health institutions have signed contracts with elderly care service institutions to provide services; Secondly, medical and health institutions should provide integrated medical and elderly care services; Thirdly, elderly care institutions shall provide medical and health services in accordance with laws and regulations; The fourth is to extend medical and health services to homes and communities. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, a capacity building project for integrated medical and elderly care services in medical and health institutions was launched to support eligible medical and health institutions in building integrated medical and elderly care facilities and providing high-quality integrated medical and elderly care services. So far, the number of signed contracts between medical and health institutions and elderly care service institutions in China has reached 87000, and more than 7800 medical and elderly care institutions with medical and health institution qualifications and registered as elderly care institutions have reached 2 million beds, effectively increasing their service supply. Thirdly, improve service quality. For three consecutive years, we have launched an action to improve the service quality of medical and elderly care integrated institutions. Through self inspection and rectification, we have improved the service quality of medical and elderly care integrated institutions. Implementing a demonstration project for the integration of medical care and elderly care, Shandong Province was selected as the first national demonstration province for the integration of medical care and elderly care. The first batch of 100 counties (cities, districts) for the integration of medical care and elderly care included Jiashan County, as well as 99 demonstration institutions for the integration of medical care and elderly care. Timely compile 200 case studies from demonstration provinces, demonstration counties (cities, districts), and demonstration institutions across the country into a book for everyone to learn from, promote, and use. In terms of personnel training, the Ministry of Education has coordinated to establish a specialized program in "Medical Care and Management" among undergraduate majors in higher vocational education nationwide, and organized the development of a series of professional textbooks. We have launched a training program to enhance the abilities of medical and elderly care professionals nationwide, and have trained over 100000 medical and elderly care professionals. In terms of intelligent support, we will carry out remote collaborative services combining medical care and elderly care, provide remote medical services for the elderly, and carry out actions to develop the smart health and elderly care industry.
