On May 13th, Vice President Han attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit in Beijing and delivered a speech. China will continue to expand its high-level opening-up to the outside world and share the development dividends with all parties. Han Zheng pointed out that the current global economic recovery is facing tests, with development opportunities and risks and challenges coexisting. Only by firmly promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and effectively maintaining the resilience and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, can we tighten the cooperation bonds and expand the cake of mutual benefit. We must seize the opportunities of the new round of technological and industrial revolutions, strengthen scientific and technological innovation and sharing with more open and innovative thinking and measures, jointly open up new fields, create new models, and cultivate new growth points. To practice true multilateralism, maintain the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization as its core, promote the construction of an open world economy, and promote inclusive economic globalization. Han Zheng stated that as the world's second-largest economy, China has maintained a contribution rate of around 30% to global economic growth for many years. A stable and more open China will undoubtedly inject strong impetus into the world economy. We are willing to share with the world the opportunities for China's sustainable development, and welcome enterprises from all countries to continue investing in China, deeply cultivating China, and winning in China. The Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit is hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and has been held for three consecutive sessions. The theme of this summit is "Mutual Trust and Cooperation: Choices in Change", with over 750 representatives from international organizations, economic institutions, foreign business associations, global trade promotion agencies, and Chinese and foreign enterprises attending.
