Military and civilian cooperation to improve the mechanism for safeguarding military rights and interests, providing a "heartwarming umbrella" for military personnel and their families

Recently, a center of the Joint Logistics Support Force sent a banner to the Office of the Leading Group for Military Rights Protection in Henan Province, expressing gratitude to military rights protection institutions at all levels for helping the family members of a certain cadre in the center to properly resolve a traffic accident dispute and rights protection case. A few years ago, Xiaocheng encountered a traffic accident while taking a taxi in a certain place, resulting in high-level paralysis. After Xiaocheng filed a lawsuit, the court ruled that the taxi driver should compensate more than 2 million yuan, and the taxi company should bear joint liability. However, the driver and taxi company causing the accident have been delaying for a long time, resulting in the vast majority of compensation payments being difficult to obtain. Afterwards, the Xiaocheng family had to bear the huge medical expenses on their own, and the family's economy was in a difficult situation. Last year, after understanding the situation, the Henan Provincial Leading Group for Military Rights Protection promptly activated the mechanism for military rights protection, designated a dedicated person to supervise and provide regular feedback on progress. Considering that Xiaocheng still needs high medical expenses to continue his life, the leadership group office has negotiated with the taxi company multiple times, and ultimately the taxi company agreed to apply for special funding from the higher-level company and pay compensation in advance. "Cases such as infringement disputes, traffic accidents, and private loans can easily become 'backlog cases', involving the energy of officers and soldiers." The staff of the leadership group introduced that after the issuance of the "Opinions on Safeguarding National Defense Interests and the Legitimate Rights and Interests of Soldiers and their Families in the New Era", they compared and revised the relevant work mechanisms in the province, adjusted and enriched the members of the leadership group, established multiple military rights protection offices and collegiate panels, established more than 100 military and military family legal aid workstations, formed a legal aid team with more than 200 lawyers, and established military rights protection liaison stations (rooms) in the stationed troops, forming a three-dimensional rights protection network that runs through the five levels of provinces, cities, counties, villages, and all stationed troops. In their work, they establish a mechanism of "deployment at the beginning of the year, quarterly 'look back', semi annual reporting, and year-end evaluation", clarify the deadline for closing military related cases, suspend accounts and cancel accounts for cases, timely report the progress of cases to the military and officers, and form a high-pressure situation of military and civilian supervision. To solve the military related difficulties, mechanism support is crucial. Since the establishment and improvement of the work mechanism, the work leadership group has successfully resolved over a hundred cases related to military rights protection. A staff member said, "Only by working with dedication, understanding with emotions, ensuring the use of methods, and utilizing organizational strength to solve difficult problems and do practical things, can officers and soldiers focus on training and preparing for war."
