Zhejiang University Developing "Intelligence+" and "Robot+" to Promote the Transformation of Laboratory Achievements
2024-05-13
"In the past few years working at the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University, I feel that the country's investment in scientific and technological innovation is becoming increasingly important, and the cooperation between universities and the market is also very close. We hope to leverage our advantages and contribute to the development of new quality productivity." Recently, Ruan Bo, the project leader of the Clean Energy and Advanced Turbine System Research Center at the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University, told China News Network. A few years ago, he returned to his hometown Shanghai from overseas and was invited to join the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University. At present, he is leading the team to tackle key technical challenges, put the independent research and development of turbine systems into practice, promote the transformation and implementation of scientific research achievements in this field, and achieve marketization. Researchers from the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University are working in the laboratory. In fact, in the past four years since its establishment, the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University has continuously made new progress in the innovation and transformation of achievements through the high-quality development model of "one institute, one park, one fund, and one platform". Recently, China News Network followed the media research tour of "Zhejiang University Serving the High Quality Development of Zhejiang" to visit the university and understand the practical explorations carried out by the campus around core areas such as "intelligence+" and "robotics+". In Heping Town, Changxing County, Huzhou, in order to ensure the health and safety of local tea picking workers, doctors place an intelligent stethoscope in front of the tea worker's chest. A "electrocardiogram" like icon will appear on the screen. Through intelligent algorithms and sensing technology, the tea worker's heart rate is detected and analyzed, and potential heart problems can be identified within a few minutes, greatly reducing the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among tea picking workers. This intelligent auscultation device is a "black technology" product officially launched by the research team of Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University in the field of smart healthcare. At present, intelligent stethoscopes have been applied in more than ten regions, including Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, and Anhui. The project leader explained, "We have been working hard to make basic medical equipment smarter through AI technology. In the future, the market volume for comprehensive updates and replacement of auscultation equipment and auxiliary diagnosis services for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases will exceed 3 billion yuan. We are confident in this." Researchers from Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University demonstrated drone products. In addition, targeting the low altitude economic track, the research institute's multiple aerial robots are also moving from the laboratory to the market. Researchers from the Provincial Engineering Research Center Laboratory of Intelligent Unmanned Systems at Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University introduced that researchers have successfully developed autonomous takeoff and landing technology for vehicle mounted unmanned aerial vehicles on dynamic platforms, achieving high-speed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) collaborative operation for the first time in the industry. Multiple UAVs complete difficult actions such as fixed-point following, surround tracking, and obstacle crossing during formation and following flight. The laboratory has also developed the Rofly dual-mode mobile robot, which achieves cross domain mobility between air and ground without relying on satellite navigation. It can achieve autonomous navigation function in buildings, enclosed spaces, complex underground scenes, and other special environments such as coal mines, caves, and high-voltage electrical rooms. In recent years, Huzhou City has vigorously promoted the construction of eight emerging industrial chains. Among them, the Huzhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University empowers the local logistics equipment industry with "intelligence+" to iterate and upgrade. At present, the research institute is jointly built with Nori Intelligent Equipment and Zhejiang University
