On May 6th, Chinese Premier Li Qiang sent a telegram to Jeremiah Manele congratulating him on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands government. Li Qiang stated that China and the Solomon Islands are comprehensive strategic partners for mutual respect and common development in the new era. In the five years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations have developed rapidly, political mutual trust has continued to deepen, and pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results, becoming a model of South South cooperation among developing countries. The Chinese government attaches great importance to the relationship between China and the Solomon Islands. I am willing to work with you and your new government to maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance friendly exchanges, and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Solomon Islands in the new era, benefiting both countries and their peoples.
