Recently, the "Beautiful Guangxi Lijiang Painting School 20-Year Exhibition" was held at the National Art Museum of China, jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Autonomous Region Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Guangxi Academy of Arts. The exhibition was organized by the Guangxi Artists Association, the Guangxi Lijiang Painting School Promotion Association, and the Guangxi Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. This exhibition is the opening grand exhibition of the "Lijiang School of Painting" 20-year series of activities, with high specifications, excellent exhibited works, and strong characteristics of the art school. A total of 82 excellent paintings created by the Lijiang School of Painting since the 2007 Jinjing Exhibition are exhibited. Among them, there are 37 Chinese painting works, 30 oil paintings, 10 watercolor paintings, and 5 printmaking works. The exhibited works focus on the local customs, natural landscapes, open development, and rural revitalization of Guangxi, with distinct regional characteristics and strong ethnic style, reflecting the aesthetic characteristics of "modern southern new pastoral poetry and painting style". The exhibition period is from May 1st to May 13th, and the exhibition area is located in Halls 1, 8, and 9 of the China National Art Museum. The Lijiang School of Painting has gone through 20 years from its inception to development and prosperity, and is one of the more active painting schools in contemporary China. Since its establishment in June 2004, the Guangxi Lijiang Painting School Promotion Association has organized nearly 100 exhibitions of various art works, published more than 50 academic works, and achieved fruitful results in art exhibitions, artistic creation and theoretical research, talent cultivation, and cultural exchange and dissemination. On the opening day of the exhibition, a 20-year academic seminar on the magnificent Guangxi Lijiang School of Painting was also held simultaneously. (Lai Xin She)
