Dragon is the totem of the Chinese nation, with a strong and majestic posture, a fearless spirit, a sense of blessings for the world, and immense power. On April 29th, the "Dragon: Totem of the Chinese Nation - Fine Cultural Relics of China's 8000 Year Dragon Culture" exhibition, sponsored by the Chinese Academy of History and organized by the Institute of Archaeology and the Chinese Archaeological Museum, was held at the Chinese Archaeological Museum. The reporter learned that a total of 23 archaeological and cultural institutions across the country participated in this special exhibition, covering 112 dragon themed cultural relics unearthed from more than 30 important sites such as Hongshan, Lingjiatan, Liangzhu, Sanxingdui, and Yinxu. Many of these cultural relics were exhibited for the first time. The exhibition showcases the origin, development, and evolution of China's eight thousand year old dragon culture, as well as the historical value and practical significance of the dragon as a totem of the Chinese nation, through three special themes: Dragon Leaving the East, Dragon Traveling the World, and Dragon Ze Four Seas, supplemented by images, videos, and three-dimensional displays. The special exhibition period is from April 29, 2024 to December 31, 2024, and the public is open from 9:00 to 17:00 every Wednesday to Sunday. Visitors can book tickets for special exhibitions at the special exhibition window through the WeChat official account reservation system of the Chinese Archaeological Museum 3 days in advance.
