Recently, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Chengdu, Quanzhou and other places have introduced a new round of measures to refine and optimize urban renewal. Since the beginning of this year, focusing on the urgent and difficult issues faced by residents, various urban renewal measures have been gradually updated in various regions. Some sound institutional mechanisms - the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban Rural Development recently issued three normative documents, including the "Beijing Urban Renewal Implementation Unit Coordination Main Body Determination Management Measures (Trial)", which were officially implemented on May 10, 2024. It is reported that the new policy clarifies the determination path of the overall coordination subject for the implementation unit of urban renewal in Beijing, focusing on solving five problems: "who can be the main body", "who will determine the main body", "how to determine the main body", "what the main body can do", and "how to supervise and manage". At the same time, it further clarifies the operation mechanism of the urban renewal project library. Exploring scientific greening - protecting ancient and famous trees in the urban area - is an important issue facing urban renewal work in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. In August 2022, the Guangzhou Forestry and Landscape Bureau used technological means to solve the migration problem for 5 hours and achieved the first national full crown transplantation of ancient banyan trees. In the Implementation Measures for the Renovation of Old Villages, Old Factories, and Old Towns in Guangzhou, which came into effect on May 15th this year, Guangzhou once again emphasized that the "three old" renovation should strengthen urban greening and tree protection work, optimize green space layout based on actual needs, and prepare a special chapter for tree protection in accordance with regulations. In Yongnian District, Handan City, Hebei Province, many residents have felt the changes brought about by municipal construction, such as making up for the shortcomings of municipal governance - "no need to step out of the water in the future" and "the roads in front of the door are no longer bumpy". It is understood that since the launch of the 2024 urban renewal campaign in Handan City, relevant departments have actively taken action to highlight, fill gaps, and clear bottlenecks. Starting from March this year, the Yongnian District Housing and Urban Rural Development Bureau has conducted a thorough investigation in the areas of improving access roads and urban road network renovation, and has planned 26 road renovation and upgrading projects. Currently, 16 roads have started construction, and it is expected to complete the renovation and upgrading before August.
