The 2024 International Labor Day Celebration and National May Day Labor Award and National Worker Pioneer Commendation Conference was held on April 28 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the All China Federation of Trade Unions, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Wang Dongming extends festive congratulations and high respect to workers, farmers, intellectuals, and other working masses of all ethnic groups across the country. Wang Dongming said that the central task of the Party is the theme and direction of the Chinese workers' movement and trade union work. Trade unions at all levels should comprehensively study and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the spirit of the Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, identify the junction, entry point and focus point between trade union work and the central task of the Party, faithfully perform their duties and be brave to take responsibility, unite and guide hundreds of millions of workers to listen to the Party's words and follow the Party with practical actions, and give full play to the role of the working class as the main force in the process of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way. 255 collectives and 1088 individuals were awarded the National May Day Labor Medal and Medal, and 1034 collectives were awarded the National Worker Pioneer.
