The opening ceremony of the Thangka Exhibition of "One View of the Millennium - the Belt and Road Countries in Thangka Painting", co sponsored by the Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center and the Chinese Foreign Cultural Exchange Center and organized by Beijing Renmei Literary and Art Creation Institute Co., Ltd., was held in Bangkok on the 26th. Chinese Embassy in Thailand Ambassador Wu Zhiwu, Thai Ministry of Culture Inspector Ratchano, Chinese Embassy in Thailand Ambassador Counselor Chang Yumeng, Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center and Director of China's Tourism Office in Bangkok, Que Xiaohua, and others attended the event. Wu Zhiwu emphasized in his speech that thangka is a painting art that has been passed down for thousands of years by the Tibetan people in China, and occupies an important position in the world's painting art hall. China and Thailand are good neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, good relatives, destiny and common good partners. The increasingly close cultural exchanges between the two countries are a solid public opinion foundation for the two sides to continuously deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote China and Thailand to make all-round progress in jointly building the "the Belt and Road". Lechano stated that these paintings have made the Thai people feel the profound heritage of China's excellent traditional culture, enabling them to have a deeper understanding of Chinese art and culture, strengthen cultural exchange and mutual learning, and hope to further deepen the friendly relationship between China and Thailand as a family through artistic works. Que Xiaohua said that strengthening people to people and cultural exchanges is an important way to build a community with a shared future for mankind. As one of the important forms of traditional Chinese painting art, thangka showcases the rich connotations of ancient Chinese painting techniques and religious culture, allowing Thai people to have a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture, deepening cultural exchange and understanding between China and Thailand, and promoting the development of China Thailand relations in a wider range of fields. This exhibition shows many Thangka works created by Chinese professional Thangka painters. Each Thangka carries rich historical and cultural connotation, and shows the unique style of co building the "the Belt and Road" country. The event also established an interactive experience zone for thangka painting. The audience present participated in copying thangka and felt the charm of this ancient art. (Lai Xin She)
