Xi Jinping said that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. 45 years of ups and downs in China US relations have given us many important insights: the two countries should be partners, not rivals; We should achieve each other instead of hurting each other; We should seek common ground while reserving differences, rather than engaging in vicious competition; We should keep our promises and act accordingly, rather than saying or doing one thing. I propose the three major principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, which are not only a summary of past experience but also a guide towards the future. Currently, the world's century long changes are undergoing profound evolution, and the international situation is even more intertwined with turmoil. Strengthening dialogue, controlling differences, and promoting cooperation between China and the United States is not only a common aspiration of the two peoples, but also a common expectation of the international community. I have said many times that the Earth is large enough to accommodate the common development and respective prosperity of China and the United States. The Chinese side welcomes a confident, open, and prosperous United States. I hope the US side can also actively and positively view China's development. This fundamental problem has been solved, and only when the "first button" is fastened can China US relations truly stabilize, improve, and move forward. Last year, I met with President Biden in San Francisco and initiated the "San Francisco Vision" for the future. In the past few months, the teams of both sides have implemented the consensus of the two heads of state, maintained communication in various fields, and made some positive progress. However, there are still many problems that need to be solved, and there is still room for further efforts.
