China Coast Guard and Pakistan Maritime Safety Bureau hold their second high-level meeting

On April 24, 2024, the China Coast Guard and the Pakistan Maritime Safety Administration held their second high-level meeting in Beijing. The meeting was co chaired by Yu Zhong, Director of the China Coast Guard, and Imtiyaz Ali, Director of the Pakistan Maritime Safety Bureau. Both sides jointly reviewed the achievements of cooperation between the two institutions in recent years, and gave positive evaluations to the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Maritime Police of the People's Republic of China and the Maritime Safety Bureau of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Strengthening Maritime Law Enforcement Cooperation and Exchange. They conducted in-depth exchanges on the next steps of personnel visits, information exchange, training exchange, ship visits, joint exercises, as well as joint efforts to combat transnational crimes at sea, and exchanged views on topics of common concern. Both sides expressed their intention to further deepen practical maritime cooperation, jointly maintain maritime security and order, and play a positive role in promoting the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Pakistan to a higher level.
