On April 24th, the first China Latin American and Caribbean Countries Aerospace Cooperation Forum opened in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The forum released the Wuhan Declaration - Aerospace Assists in Building a Community of Shared Future for China and Latin America. The holding of the China Latin America Space Cooperation Forum is a concrete achievement of implementing the Joint Action Plan for Key Areas of Cooperation between China and the member states of the Latin American Community (2022-2024), aimed at promoting space cooperation between China and Latin America, assisting the development of space in Latin America and the Caribbean, continuing the friendship between China and Latin America, and building a community with a shared future for China and Latin America. The Wuhan Declaration points out that China has signed space cooperation agreements with multiple countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, which has pragmatically promoted space exchange and project cooperation between China and Latin America. China has successfully completed space cooperation projects such as the China Pakistan Earth Resources series satellite, Venezuela's communication and remote sensing satellite, and Bolivia's communication satellite, promoting space technology to serve the economic and social development of China and Latin America and the Caribbean countries, becoming an indispensable driving force for South South cooperation, and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Representatives from the National Space Administration of China and the space agencies of Latin American and Caribbean countries have jointly initiated seven initiatives, including sharing space science and technology and applications, space education and training, space industry solutions, building a data sharing service platform to support the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, promoting cooperation in space personnel education and training, sharing opportunities for cooperation in moon and deep space exploration projects, moon samples and data research, encouraging space agencies and enterprises to carry out space cooperation, maintaining fair and reasonable global governance in outer space, and maintaining close coordination and communication through the communication channels of the China Latin American Space Cooperation Forum. Representatives from relevant departments, universities, research institutes, enterprises and other units in the aerospace field from China, Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as representatives from relevant international organizations, attended the forum.
