The reporter recently learned from the Supreme People's Procuratorate that the Supreme People's Procuratorate has recently issued a batch of typical cases of procuratorial public interest litigation to assist in noise pollution prevention and control, involving noise pollution issues such as motor vehicle street explosions, square dancing disturbing residents, and nighttime illegal construction. In 2023, the Supreme People's Procuratorate will deploy procuratorial organs at all levels to focus on the issue of noise pollution at the doorstep of ordinary people and carry out public interest litigation and case handling work in accordance with the law. Procuratorial organs at all levels have handled over 940 public interest lawsuits against noise pollution issues in industries, construction, transportation, social life, and other fields. Noise pollution has characteristics such as instantaneity and fluidity, which require high professionalism in investigation and evidence collection. In the administrative public interest litigation case of the People's Procuratorate of Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, urging the rectification of motor vehicle "street explosion" noise pollution, in order to solve the problem of instantaneous noise evidence collection, the procuratorial organs actively invited experts in the field of environmental protection to participate in the investigation and evidence collection, and comprehensively used various means to identify the fact that there was motor vehicle "street explosion" noise pollution at night in some areas, providing a basis for urging administrative organs to carry out effective rectification. The People's Procuratorate of Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province, in response to the problem of noise disturbance caused by illegal operations and nighttime construction in the construction industry, has comprehensively used methods such as hearings and procuratorial suggestions to urge administrative organs to investigate and deal with illegal issues in accordance with the law, ensuring that residents can rest normally. The person in charge of the Eighth Procuratorate of the Supreme People's Procuratorate stated that the procuratorial organs will continue to deepen the special action of "protecting people's livelihoods", promote the continuous improvement of sound environment quality through high-quality and efficient case handling, identify and implement the entry point of procuratorial public interest litigation to assist in noise pollution prevention and control actions, and increase the intensity of public interest litigation for noise pollution prevention and control.
