"115+Campus Project" Launched to Strengthen Campus Health and Safety Defense Line
2024-04-24
With the increasing emphasis on school hygiene and health education in China, how to effectively prevent and control campus respiratory infectious diseases has become an important issue. On April 22nd, the National Primary and Secondary School Campus Health and Respiratory Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Capacity Building Project (hereinafter referred to as the 115+Campus Project) was officially launched at the Yifu Building of the Medical Department of Peking University. Compared to other transmission routes, the transmission path of campus infectious diseases is complex, which may lead to community transmission. Community transmission may also enter the campus through various forms, and schools are densely populated, making it easy for clustered outbreaks to occur. Therefore, the campus is a key place for infectious disease prevention and control, and teachers and students are the key population for prevention and control. Dai Zheng, Director of the Public Health Management Department of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, stated at the meeting that the center will continue to work together with multiple departments to implement technical measures, carry out science popularization and education, improve school hygiene conditions, strengthen infectious disease monitoring and early warning, and provide better technical guidance for campus transmission and prevention work. It is understood that the "115+Campus Project" is aimed at the four major pain points of campus infectious disease prevention and control, aiming to collaborate with the Education Commission, disease control, schools, students, parents and other parties, develop unified science popularization materials, promote campus infectious disease prevention and control technology, promote vaccination awareness and cultivate good hygiene habits, enhance campus infectious disease prevention and control capabilities, and prevent the spread and outbreak of respiratory infectious diseases on campus.
