National defense education for all is a fundamental project for building and consolidating national defense and strengthening the people's army. It is an effective way to promote patriotism and enhance the national defense awareness of the whole nation. The current National Defense Education Law was passed at the 21st meeting of the 9th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in 2001, and underwent a bundled revision in 2018. In the new era, there have been many new changes in the international and domestic environment, which have put forward new and higher requirements for national defense education for all. It is necessary to timely revise and improve the National Defense Education Law. On April 23rd, the revised draft of the National Defense Education Law was submitted for initial review at the 9th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress. The revised draft mainly includes: clarifying the connotation and positioning of national defense education, clarifying the guiding ideology of national defense education, clarifying the leadership system and work responsibilities of national defense education, improving the school's national defense education system, expanding the scope and channels of social national defense education, and strengthening the guarantee of national defense education.
