On April 19th, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, the launch ceremony of the "National Federation of Literary and Art Circles Intellectual Property Promotion Week" and the "Cultural and Legal Volunteer Service on Campus (Chinese Opera)" event jointly organized by the Rights Protection Department of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the China Quyi Artists Association, and the Central Academy of Drama were held at the Central Academy of Drama, marking the official start of the "National Federation of Literary and Art Circles Intellectual Property Promotion Week" in 2024. The theme of this year's publicity week is "Undertaking new missions, seizing new opportunities, and responding to new challenges - actively paying attention to the impact of new technologies on the prosperity of literary and artistic creation and copyright protection.". Director of the Rights and Interests Protection Department of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Bao Shuyan, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the China Quyi Artists Association, Yang Fahang, and Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Academy of Drama, Hao Rong, attended the event and delivered speeches. Wang Guoqian, Deputy Director of the Rights and Interests Protection Department of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, rights protection officials from the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and various national artist associations, as well as some teachers and students from the Central Academy of Drama, participated in the event. In her speech, Bao Shuyan stated that the "National Federation of Literary and Art Circles Intellectual Property Promotion Week" aims to promote industry respect for originality, protect copyright, enhance the ability to apply intellectual property, and jointly create a good environment and atmosphere for literary and artistic creation. Volunteer service for literature and art on campus is a characteristic legal education activity specifically aimed at art college students. It helps students strengthen their legal awareness, establish the concept of rule of law, apply and protect the intellectual property rights of literary and artistic works, and become new era literary and artistic workers who respect and abide by the law. Yang Fahang said that in the next step, the Rights Protection Office of the China Quyi Association will continue to explore the protection of Quyi's rights and interests in accordance with the work deployment of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, under the guidance of the Rights Protection Department of the Federation. At the same time, we hope that through this event, the students of the Quyi Cross talk Creation and Performance Class at the Central Academy of Drama will plant the seeds of respect and protection of intellectual property in their hearts, vigorously promote and encourage more people to participate in intellectual property protection actions, explore more effective methods, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of literary and artistic workers, and make their own contributions to promoting the inheritance and development of literature and art. Hao Rong said that the significant role of protecting intellectual property rights in promoting the creation of literary and artistic masterpieces, flourishing the literary and artistic industry, and building modern civilization of the Chinese nation is obvious and immeasurable. I hope that through this activity of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, we can enhance the awareness of young students in universities to respect and protect intellectual property rights, and apply it to their own learning, work, and life, effectively protecting the intellectual property rights of literary and artistic workers, promoting the healthy and orderly production and operation of literary and artistic works, and prospering the socialist literary and artistic cause. Feng Gang, the presiding judge of the Trial Supervision Division of the Beijing Intellectual Property Court, gave a special lecture entitled "Judicial Practice in the Protection of Copyright in Literary and Art Works". Combining judicial trial practice and insights in the field of copyright, he popularized basic legal knowledge of copyright through case interpretation, taught practical skills in preventing legal risks and safeguarding rights, and exchanged and discussed with teachers and students present on the issue of copyright protection in artistic works generated by artificial intelligence, achieving good results. During the event, students from the Quyi Cross talk Creation and Performance Class of the Central Academy of Drama performed a specially created short section of cross-talk with the theme of copyright protection, using artistic forms to vividly promote and popularize legal knowledge of copyright.
