Li Hongzhong, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, attended the opening ceremony of the 6th Ministerial Conference of the China Portuguese Speaking Countries Forum on Economic and Trade Cooperation (Macau) in Macau on the 22nd and delivered a speech. Li Hongzhong pointed out that since its establishment 21 years ago, the China Portugal Forum has achieved fruitful results with language and culture as the link, economic and trade cooperation as the theme, and common development as the goal. The cooperation between China and Portuguese speaking countries has become a model of friendly cooperation between countries with different social systems, cultural backgrounds, development stages, and sizes, and has become a vivid example of promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Li Hongzhong said that China is comprehensively promoting the great cause of building a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization, which will inject strong impetus into the world economy. China is willing to work with Portuguese speaking countries to enhance the level of economic and trade cooperation, expand cooperation in emerging fields, play the role of Macao's commercial and trade cooperation service platform, promote China Portugal cooperation to a larger scope, wider areas, and higher levels, and jointly build an open and inclusive world economy. The meeting announced 20 measures for the Chinese government to promote economic and trade cooperation with Portuguese speaking countries in the next stage, and welcomed Portuguese speaking country enterprises to deeply cultivate the Chinese market and share the dividends of China's development. More than 1000 guests from 9 Portuguese speaking countries, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal,  Sao Tome and Principe, Timor Leste, the mainland of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region attended the meeting. During his stay in Macao, Li Hongzhong met respectively with Cape Verde's Deputy Prime Minister Correa, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of  Sao Tome and Principe de Oliveira, and Timor Leste's Deputy Prime Minister Li Fafang.
