The 19th annual meeting of the Western Pacific Naval Forum opened in Qingdao, Shandong on the 22nd. Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Zhang Youxia, attended and delivered a speech. The Chinese military holds high the banner of win-win cooperation, practices a common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security concept, continuously deepens exchanges and exchanges with navies of other countries, actively participates in international maritime security cooperation, proactively provides maritime public safety products, and makes important contributions to jointly ensuring the development of the marine industry and promoting common prosperity. China will continue to uphold the major concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, practice the global development initiative, global security initiative, and global civilization initiative, and participate in international military cooperation with a more active and open attitude, writing a new chapter in promoting world peace and development. Zhang Youxia said that despite the accelerated evolution of the world's century long changes, the world is still not peaceful. We should resolutely abandon the Cold War mentality, work together to create peace and tranquility, engage in dialogue and consultation to bridge differences, jointly discuss and build governance rules, and use practical achievements to promote maritime security governance to a new level. China has always insisted on resolving maritime disputes through friendly consultations with the directly involved countries, but will lawfully and legitimately protect its rights against intentional infringement, and resolutely counter unreasonable provocations based on reason. We will not cause trouble and will never be afraid of it. The Chinese military will resolutely defend the unity of the motherland and national interests. Before the opening, Zhang Youxia took a group photo with the heads of naval delegations from various countries attending the forum's annual meeting. This is the second time that the Chinese Navy has hosted the Western Pacific Naval Forum Annual Meeting since 2014, with naval delegations from 29 countries participating.
