Among them, the major series of Chinese painting throughout history has received attention. Exhibition site. This exhibition is jointly planned by Professor Wang Xiaosong from the School of Art and Archaeology at Zhejiang University and independent curator Jiang Jun. While showcasing diverse cultures, it conveys the concepts of "embracing all rivers", "harmonious coexistence", and "beauty and harmony" in traditional Chinese culture. The exhibition is divided into two parts, namely the section "Collection" composed of image literature from various Chinese painting genres, and the section "Biography" composed of works by seven contemporary Chinese artists, including Che Jianquan, Jiao Xingtao, Qiu Zhenzhong, Shi Hui, Wang Shaoqiang, Wang Zhenghong, and Zhu Jinshi. In the "Collection" section, 100 image literature archives of scattered Chinese paintings from various dynasties are displayed in filing cabinets and LED screens. The Chinese Painting Department, jointly compiled by Zhejiang University and the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage, is a national level major cultural project that for the first time comprehensively and systematically investigates, organizes, verifies, researches, and publishes existing Chinese painting works throughout the world. In the "Chuan" section, seven contemporary Chinese artists have launched new creations based on the "Da Series", starting from different painting elements such as architecture, landscape, figures, flowers and birds, and using art to meet friends and keep up with the past. This not only reflects the elegant collection culture of traditional Chinese literati, but also emphasizes the inheritance between tradition and contemporary. Between "collection" and "biography", the exhibition draws inspiration from the 20th century German art historian Abby Warburg's "Atlas of the Goddess of Memory", using a bibliographic approach to prepare thematic plates for each artwork, attempting to connect Chinese painting and contemporary art through the juxtaposition of multiple images. Curator Wang Xiaosong introduced that the theme of "Beauty and Co existence - Collection" aims to convey the values of "Beauty and Co existence", "Harmony and Coexistence", and "Inclusion and Inclusion" in traditional Chinese culture. Laura Finkato, representative of the Venice Committee to Commemorate the 700th Anniversary of Marco Polo's Death, stated in her speech that this exhibition builds a bridge through culture and establishes a positive relationship of mutual respect. We hope to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries and open up a future of development and peace through the commemoration of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death. Zhejiang University President Du Jiangfeng expressed the hope that through this exhibition, we can further strengthen cultural exchanges between China and the West, actively showcase the profound heritage and modern image of Chinese culture to the world, tell unique Chinese stories, use beauty as a medium, share beauty with others, promote exchanges, mutual learning, and peaceful development of human civilization, and make positive efforts to build a "community with a shared future for mankind". Zhang Lingxiao, Counselor of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Chinese Embassy in Italy, stated that the Venice Biennale and the exhibition of the Chinese National Pavilion have added very important and eye-catching content to the joint commemoration of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death between China and Italy, and will further promote mutual learning and friendly exchanges between the two civilizations in all aspects.
