Currently, China's photovoltaic manufacturing and photovoltaic power generation scale are ranked first in the world. According to the 2023 national electricity industry statistics released by the National Energy Administration earlier this year, as of the end of 2023, the installed capacity of solar power generation in China exceeded 610 gigawatts, officially surpassing the installed capacity of hydropower of about 420 gigawatts, and becoming the second largest power source form in the country's installed capacity, further enhancing its position in the power source structure. It should also be noted that although the quantity of China's photovoltaic industry has increased, there is still room for improvement in quality. Experts suggest that in order for China's photovoltaic industry to take further steps, it must transform towards a more high-end and efficient direction, and move towards the top along the value chain curve. With the accelerated integration of 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet and other new generation information technologies with photovoltaic industry, new technologies and new products such as intelligent manufacturing, intelligent operation and maintenance, and intelligent scheduling are widely used. This provides new opportunities for efficiency improvement and upgrading of China's photovoltaic industry. The so-called intelligent photovoltaic is simply the application of Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in the traditional photovoltaic power generation system to digitally and intelligently upgrade the power station equipment and photovoltaic system, which is the result of the integration of photovoltaic power generation and information technology. What is the "sky" of intelligent photovoltaics? At the West China Science and Technology Innovation Port of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the reporter saw a building covered in blue-grey glass curtain walls shimmering slightly in the sunlight from a distance. "This building appears to be made of wall tiles and glass, but it is actually a thin film photovoltaic module that can generate electricity," said Yu Zhikun, assistant to the chairman of Zhongyi Construction Technology, as he walked with reporters. "We can achieve an annual power generation of about 400000 kilowatt hours using 23% of the building's exterior facade. This building itself is like a small power plant, which can meet the green power supply of the entire building," said Yu Zhikun. The reporter learned that this building that generates electricity is an intelligent and green energy innovation integration jointly built by Zhongyijian Technology and Xi'an Jiaotong University. It is the first smart green energy building in China, which can save about 200000 yuan in electricity bills annually. In addition to technological innovation, policy guidance is equally important for the development of intelligent photovoltaics, as it escorts intelligent photovoltaics into the fast lane of development. The reporter reviewed the list of intelligent photovoltaic pilot demonstration projects over the years and found that since the country launched this work in 2019, the support direction has gradually shifted from large-scale centralized ground power stations to industrial and commercial distributed power stations, from "photovoltaic+buildings" to "photovoltaic+" various application scenarios, and from advanced technology and industrial chain to information technology, empirical testing, and other aspects.
