2024-04-18
On March 7th, several children played in the new town of Keramba on the outskirts of Luanda, Angola. Kailanba New City is located about 18 kilometers south of the center of Luanda, the capital of Angola, and is the largest livelihood project undertaken by Chinese enterprises in the local area. The project officially started construction in 2008, with over 700 buildings and 20000 units delivered smoothly in 2012. Supporting facilities such as schools, water plants, sewage treatment plants, and substations are complete. At present, the total construction area of the Kailanba New City project is about 3.31 million square meters, and the residential population has reached 120000 people. After the completion of the new city of Keranba, it was hailed by the Angolan government as a model of post-war reconstruction in Angola and a "gem" on Angola and even the African continent. This project witnesses the profound friendship between the people of China and Angola, and is a model of equal, friendly, and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. (Lai Xin She)
