Since its establishment, Jiulong School in Longhui County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province has continuously explored and established new models of reading education, solidly promoted the rooting of reading education, and continuously promoted the development of a scholarly campus. At the beginning of the establishment of the school in 2014, the school organized teachers and students to carry out a comprehensive plan for a bookish campus based on teaching and research groups and classes. The plan was fully launched, and a new approach to "one, two, three, four" reading education was summarized and proposed. "One" is one purpose, promoting excellent traditional culture, nurturing the humanistic sentiments of teachers and students, shaping cultural personality, and enhancing personal realm; "Two" refers to two services. The school comprehensively implements quality education and promotes the harmonious and healthy development of students' physical and mental health; "Three" is to promote three construction projects, including the construction of school-based reading courses, the construction of a bookish teacher team mainly composed of Chinese language teachers, and the construction of campus culture; "Four" refers to focusing on four aspects of education, including classical poetry and literature education, traditional festival education, civilized etiquette education, and art and cultural education. In the past decade, under the rigorous top-level design guarantee, the school has created a scholarly atmosphere where secretaries and principals take the lead in reading, all teachers actively recommend books, students love reading, and parents participate in reading. The school cultivates a rich campus with the fragrance of books, actively adheres to reading education as the "golden key" to improve the quality and efficiency of school education, regards student reading actions as an important part of environmental education, constructs a diversified reading evaluation mechanism, and sets up a three-level display mode of "group class grade (department)". The school organizes a school wide student reading evaluation activity every semester, and the class organizes a reading exchange activity with a reading theme once a month. Continuously increasing investment, upgrading and renovating the school library and reading room, two "sunshine study rooms" have been built, and a class book corner has been built in each class. Carefully decorate and beautify the campus, create a scholarly campus environment, and achieve holistic education. The school actively spreads the seeds of scholarly reading, focuses on the "first classroom", fully leverages the leading role of teachers, and integrates traditional culture into Chinese language classroom teaching; Actively exploring and integrating relevant high-quality resources, based on the "second classroom", offering characteristic courses such as "recitation of ancient poetry", "picture book reading", and "Chinese character writing"; Expand the "third classroom" and regularly organize students to leave the school gate and participate in various extracurricular research and labor practice activities. In January 2024, Kowloon School in Longhui County was selected as the "Bookish Campus" for the 2023 National Youth Student Reading Action by the Ministry of Education. The school has been successively rated as an advanced collective in the national education system, a national scholarly campus, a national football characteristic school, a national basketball characteristic school, and a civilized campus in Hunan Province.
