The first PQC "Anti Quantum Attack Shield" successfully equipped and applied in China

The reporter learned from the Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center that on April 10th, China's third-generation independent superconducting quantum computer "Honyuan Wukong" successfully equipped China's first PQC "anti quantum attack shield" - a mixed encryption method called PQC (PostQuantum Cryptography). This will enable "Genuine Wukong" to better resist attacks from other quantum computers and ensure data security during operation. It is reported that PQC technology can effectively resist attacks from quantum computers. Quantum computers, due to their super computing power, can pose a serious threat to the original public key cryptography system. To resist potential attacks from quantum computers, countries around the world are accelerating PQC migration to replace the original public key cryptography system. In 2023, the US National Security Agency issued a document clearly encouraging early migration to PQC. The iMessage encryption scheme recently launched by Apple and the hybrid encryption scheme deployed by Google in its browser both include the PQC algorithm. Dou Menghan, Deputy Director of Anhui Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center, introduced that the PQC "Anti Quantum Attack Shield" uploaded by "Benyuan Wukong" was developed by Benyuan Quantum Computing Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd. and is the first practical application in China. This means that China's independent superconducting quantum computer can have both offensive and defensive capabilities in the field of quantum computing.
