On April 11th, Zhao Leji, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, held talks with Choi Long hai, member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Congress, in Pyongyang. Zhao Leji stated that the traditional friendship between China and North Korea was personally created and carefully cultivated by the older generation of leaders from both parties and countries. Zhao Leji emphasized that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and North Korea. China is willing to work with the North Korean side to implement the important consensus of the highest leaders of both parties and countries, take the "China North Korea Friendship Year" as an opportunity, close high-level exchanges, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote cultural exchanges, strengthen strategic cooperation, and promote the continued development of China North Korea relations. Zhao Leji stated that legislative exchanges are an important component of China North Korea relations and have played a positive role in deepening and developing bilateral relations for a long time. The Chinese side is willing to closely communicate and cooperate with the North Korean legislative body to help the traditional friendly cooperation between China and North Korea move towards a higher level. Cui Longhai stated that the blood condensed friendship between North Korea and China has a long history and profound foundation, and is a precious heritage and treasure shared by both countries. The North Korean side is willing to work hand in hand with China to follow the direction guided by the highest leaders of both parties and countries, and take the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the "North Korea China Friendship Year" as an opportunity to inherit and develop traditional friendship between North Korea and China, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promote the continuous development of North Korea China friendly cooperation relations. Both sides exchanged views on the international regional situation and the situation on the Korean Peninsula. After the meeting, Zhao Leji and Cui Longhai witnessed the signing of relevant cooperation documents in the fields of mutual exemption of diplomatic official visas between China and North Korea, translation and publication of classic works, customs quarantine, radio and television, postal and express delivery, and jointly attended the welcome banquet held by the North Korean side for the Chinese party and government delegation.
