On the 10th, the Department of Transportation of Hebei Province, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei Province, and the Department of Public Security of Hebei Province jointly announced that the G2 Beijing Shanghai Expressway Hebei Langfang section (Hebei section of Beijing Tianjin Tang Expressway) will officially be used for intelligent connected vehicle road testing and demonstration applications. Previously, the Beijing and Tianjin sections of the Beijing Tianjin Tang Expressway had already opened intelligent connected vehicle testing, which means that the first intelligent connected vehicle testing highway across the three regions of Beijing Tianjin Hebei will be fully opened. It is understood that the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Expressway is the first cross provincial road in China to support collaborative autonomous driving testing between vehicles and roads. The G2 Beijing Shanghai Expressway Hebei Langfang section (Beijing Tianjin Tang Expressway Hebei section) is the first intelligent connected vehicle testing section of the expressway in Hebei Province. The opening of this section marks the full opening of the Beijing Tianjin Tang Expressway intelligent connected vehicle testing demonstration application road spanning three regions, and is the first in China to implement intelligent connected vehicle cross regional scenario applications. In recent years, autonomous vehicle have seen great development, but most of the tests have appeared on urban roads. There has not been a highway for road testing and demonstration applications of ICVs in Hebei. To this end, an innovation management consortium was established by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei Province, the Department of Transportation of Hebei Province, and the Department of Public Security of Hebei Province to jointly promote the testing, standard formulation, demonstration application, and industrialization process of intelligent connected vehicles. On March 22, three departments jointly issued the Implementation Rules for Road Testing and Demonstration Application of Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Hebei Province, clarifying the relevant rules for intelligent connected vehicle testing on highways within the province. On March 29th, a road testing and evaluation meeting for intelligent connected vehicles was held on the Hebei section of the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Expressway. On April 10th, the first intelligent connected vehicle testing highway in Hebei Province was officially opened. "The full opening of the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Expressway marks the integration of logistics and all scenario transportation, including road freight, and truly makes" door-to-door "autonomous transportation a reality. Wang Chao, a partner of Beijing Mainline Technology Co., Ltd. and the director of the Forward looking Institute, who initiated actual vehicle testing on the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan Expressway, said that this will play a great role in exploring highway vehicle road coordination and accelerating the development of the intelligent connected vehicle industry.".
