The third National Reading Conference will be held in Kunming, Yunnan from April 23rd to 25th. The conference, with the theme of "Building a Bookish Society and Sharing Modern Civilization", will hold a series of promotional activities on reading for all, delving into topics such as reading and urban development, reading and ethnic unity. During the conference, a National Reading Lecture Hall will also be organized, inviting renowned cultural scholars to give lectures; Set up a ten mile book corridor and a spring city book market at the Haigeng Dam to bring cultural feasts to the public, allowing them to better experience the charm of reading and stimulate the enthusiasm of the whole society for reading. The conference will focus on inheriting and promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture; Efforts should be made to cultivate a reading culture throughout society and enhance the level of modern civilization; Efforts will be made to enhance the recognition of Chinese culture among the people of all ethnic groups, and to strengthen the awareness of the Chinese national community; Efforts will be made to enhance the dissemination and influence of Chinese culture, which not only reflects the reading style of the whole country, but also highlights the distinctive features of Yunnan's bookish society construction. Since the launch of the National Reading Campaign by 11 departments including the Central Propaganda Department in 2006, various regions and departments have continuously strengthened the supply of high-quality content, innovated reading activity methods, improved reading facilities and service systems, and vigorously protected the reading rights and interests of special groups. The work of national reading has formed a good working pattern with active guidance from party committees and government departments, and wide participation from all sectors of society. The reading concept has deeply rooted in people's hearts, and the bookish atmosphere has become increasingly strong. National reading has become a trend. It is reported that the first National Reading Conference, with the theme of "Reading in a New Era, Advancing a New Journey", is divided into four major sections: forums, exhibitions, releases, and activities, comprehensively showcasing the fruitful achievements of China's bookish society construction and the promotion of national reading. The second National Reading Conference was held in Hangzhou, with the theme of "Deepening the Construction of a Bookish China through National Reading", and more than 30 various activities were held.
