The reporter learned from the People's Bank of China on April 9 that recently, the People's Bank of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and the National Cutural Heritage Administration jointly issued the Notice on Further Optimizing the Payment Service in Key Cultural and Tourism Places to Improve Payment Convenience, so as to better meet the diversified payment service needs of the elderly, foreigners and other groups in the field of cultural and tourism. The notice requires cultural and tourism departments and cultural relics authorities in various regions to strengthen coordination and linkage with local branches of the People's Bank of China, identify key cultural and tourism venues, identify key merchants, formulate work plans, refine work measures from continuously improving the domestic and foreign bank card acceptance environment and cash usage environment, improving mobile payment convenience, strengthening publicity and promotion, and do a good job in supply and demand matching and evaluation supervision, jointly improving the level of payment facilitation in the cultural and tourism field. The notice clearly states that three-star and above tourist hotels, national 5A and 4A level tourist attractions, national and provincial-level tourist resorts, and national level tourist leisure blocks must achieve full coverage of domestic and foreign bank card acceptance. Key cultural and tourism venues related business entities should retain manual ticket sales windows, support cash payments, and safeguard consumer payment options. Actively promote the establishment of foreign currency exchange service outlets in cultural and tourism venues with a large number of foreign visitors to China, and improve the level of foreign currency exchange services. Continuously improve mobile payment services, optimize business processes, enrich product functions, and enhance the convenience of mobile payment in online and offline scenarios of cultural and tourism venues. The reporter learned that in the next step, the People's Bank of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and the National Cutural Heritage Administration will work closely with the local government to urge and guide all parties in the financial industry and the cultural and tourism industry to work together, promote the implementation of various measures notified, continue to optimize payment services for the elderly and foreign visitors to China, better serve the people's livelihood, optimize the business environment, and promote high-level opening up.
