The first plenary session of the inter ministerial joint meeting on the construction of a strong intellectual property country was recently held in Beijing. The meeting conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, summarized the work for 2023, and deployed key tasks for the next stage. The convener of the joint meeting and the heads of each member unit attended the meeting. The meeting pointed out that in 2023, the member units of the joint meeting will strengthen coordination and cooperation, and achieve significant results in promoting the construction of a strong intellectual property country. The number of intellectual property rights will steadily increase, protection will be comprehensively strengthened, transformation and application will accelerate, the service system will continue to improve, international cooperation will deepen and expand, and effectively serve the overall development of the Party and the country. The meeting emphasized that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and is a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five Year Plan. All member units of the joint meeting should effectively play the role of the joint meeting mechanism, work together to promote the construction of a strong intellectual property country, and provide strong support for building a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. The meeting deployed key tasks for building a strong intellectual property country in 2024. One is to strengthen the macro coordination of intellectual property rights and enhance collaboration and cooperation among departments. The second is to strengthen the legal protection of intellectual property rights and improve relevant legal policies. The third is to promote the transformation and application of intellectual property rights, drive the improvement and efficiency of the entire intellectual property chain, and cultivate new driving forces for the development of new quality productive forces. The fourth is to enhance the effectiveness of intellectual property protection and create a favorable business and innovation environment. The fifth is to improve the level of public services for intellectual property rights and strengthen the dissemination and utilization of intellectual property information. Six is to enhance international cooperation and competitiveness in intellectual property, and effectively safeguard national security and development interests in the field of intellectual property.
