From the Tomb of the Unknown Martyrs in Pingxi, we can see the heroic memories of a hot land - the loyal soul has not passed away, the family and country will always remember the pear blossom dance in the wind, and it is also during the Qingming Festival. Starting from the downtown area of Beijing, heading southwest along the Beijing Kunming Expressway, and entering the mountainous hinterland through the Juma River, a gray white building attracts the attention of passersby - the words "Pingxi Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall" shine brightly in the sunlight. On the top of the building stands three statues of soldiers with blazing eyes, blowing military horns, and charging with steel guns. Looking up, time and space seemed to freeze in an instant. The era of war more than 80 years ago reappeared before us... The flames of resistance against Japan were raging, and the North Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army sent capable generals to Pingxi to open up the Pingxi Anti Japanese Base. This was once the forefront of the Jin Cha Ji base area, leaving behind countless heroic deeds of revolutionary martyrs who fought tenaciously and died generously. In order to commemorate the martyrs, local governments have successively built the Pingxi Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall and the Pingxi Anti Japanese Martyrs Cemetery in this hot land. In 2012, Fangshan District launched the rescue and protection project for scattered martyr memorial facilities in accordance with the requirements of the country and Beijing Municipality. Beside the Pingxi Anti Japanese Martyrs Cemetery, the Pingxi Unknown Martyrs Cemetery was repaired. In the Pingxi Unknown Martyrs Cemetery, there stands a magnificent monument to the unknown martyrs, where over 700 of the unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Anti Japanese War rest. No one knows their names, places of origin, or whether they have relatives, but tourists from all over the country always stop here to pay tribute to the martyrs and heroes. The touching heroic deeds, like threads soaked in blood, run through the immortal history of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan; Shining hero stories, like shining stars, have become the most prominent symbol in the spiritual lineage of the Chinese nation. These martyrs who were unable to leave their names, their life stories are unknown, but their spiritual light illuminates time and space... On the eve of Qingming Festival, officers and soldiers from a certain unit of the Beijing Garrison went to the Pingxi Anti Japanese Martyrs Cemetery to carry out a sweeping activity, swore an oath to the party flag, and drew strength to move forward. The Monument to the Pingxi Unknown Martyrs Cemetery. An unnamed monument silently inherits the southwest of Beijing, while the Jumahe River flows quietly. Driving all the way west from the Pingxi Anti Japanese War Memorial Hall, if you don't pay attention to observation, you may even overlook this small cemetery built on the mountain - the Pingxi Unknown Martyrs Cemetery, which is hidden in the valley. In early March 1938, the Jin Cha Ji Military Region established the Pingxi Anti Japanese Base Area. Under the leadership of the Party, a large number of Party members and key members of the masses in the base areas were organized into working groups and sent to various villages to mobilize the masses, forging the Pingxi Anti Japanese Base Area into a sharp knife inserted behind enemy lines in North China. According to statistics, during the War of Resistance Against Japan, thousands of Eighth Route Army soldiers and guerrilla fighters sacrificed their lives in opening up and consolidating the Pingxi Anti Japanese Base Area and fighting against the Japanese puppet army. Most of these soldiers are around 20 years old, with the oldest being in their early thirties. Some of them sacrificed themselves as soon as they entered the battlefield, without even leaving their names behind. These "unnamed" soldiers, in order to defend Pingxi, shed their last drop of blood and sacrificed their young lives, sleeping here forever. In 2012, Fangshan District followed the national and Beijing municipal regulations on rescuing and protecting scattered areas
