In order to adapt to the new situation and tasks of intellectual property prosecution work, the Intellectual Property Procuratorate Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (hereinafter referred to as the "Supreme Procuratorate Intellectual Property Office") has recently identified 80 case handling contact points, including the Intellectual Property Procuratorate Office of the Fourth Branch of the Beijing People's Procuratorate, the People's Procuratorate of Zhangjiang District in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, the Intellectual Property Procuratorate Office of Suzhou People's Procuratorate in Jiangsu Province, and the Intellectual Property Procuratorate Office of Siming District People's Procuratorate in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. In March 2022, the Supreme Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China identified the first batch of 34 city and county-level procuratorate intellectual property prosecution departments as contact points for handling cases in 20 provinces that had already implemented comprehensive performance of intellectual property prosecution at that time, and formulated management measures. With the continuous deepening of the comprehensive performance of intellectual property prosecution, intellectual property offices have been established in all provincial procuratorates across the country. Some municipal and grassroots courts with a large number of cases have also formed intellectual property offices or case handling teams. The number of intellectual property prosecution cases nationwide has significantly increased, and the case structure has been significantly optimized. "Practice has proven that determining the contact points for handling cases has a positive effect on the Supreme People's Procuratorate to timely grasp the work situation in various regions, deepen comprehensive performance, improve professional level, and implement high-quality and efficient handling of cases. At the same time, each contact point has also played a leading and exemplary role in cultivating typical cases, summarizing experience and practices, researching cutting-edge issues, and driving the development of local intellectual property procuratorial work." The head of the Supreme People's Procuratorate stated that in the next step, the Supreme People's Procuratorate will continue to strengthen communication and guidance, fully leverage the important roles of contact points in case handling quality and efficiency, information frontier bases, and typical case cultivation bases, to lead and promote innovative development of intellectual property procuratorial work nationwide.
