? Bernd Nohe, Director of the Department of Transportation and Logistics at the University of Duisburg Essen in Germany, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that in recent years, the China Europe freight train has added vitality to the transportation port city of Duisburg located in the Ruhr district of Germany, bringing new development opportunities to countries and cities along the route. On March 27th, Bernd Nohe, Director of the Department of Transportation and Logistics at the University of Duisburg Essen in Germany, was interviewed by Xinhua News Agency in Duisburg. After undergoing industrial transformation, Duisburg has transformed from a steel city to a transportation port city. In recent years, Duisburg has become one of the European hubs with the highest operating frequency, volume, and value of goods for China Europe freight trains. According to data from the Duisburg Port Group in Germany, the transportation time of China Europe freight trains connecting Chinese cities and Duisburg is 12 to 18 days. Approximately 60 China Europe freight trains arrive in Duisburg every week, and the goods carried by the trains are transported from here to other ports in Germany or neighboring Europe. The transportation service network of China Europe freight trains basically covers the entire Eurasian continent, effectively expanding economic and trade exchanges between China and countries along the route, and accelerating the cross-border flow of factor resources. Nuohe stated that the China Europe freight train brings a more balanced mode of transportation, with much less transit time than sea and road transportation, and lower prices than air transportation. With the gradual improvement of infrastructure, the fast and efficient China Europe freight trains bring business opportunities to enterprises, as well as rich goods to cities along the route, promoting better connectivity between China and Europe. Nuohe said that as a transportation and trade carrier, the China Europe freight train not only transports high-quality Chinese goods to countries along the route, but also promotes the development of logistics and warehousing industries and rapid employment growth in countries and cities along the route, becoming an important support for ensuring global supply chain stability, promoting industrial integration and innovative development. On March 27th, Bernd Nohe, Director of the Department of Transportation and Logistics at the University of Duisburg Essen in Germany, was interviewed by Xinhua News Agency in Duisburg. Zhang Fan, a reporter from the Xinhua News Agency, photographed that "the joint construction of the 'the Belt and Road' initiative and the linkage effect of the China Europe train can significantly increase commercial activities, and bring new development opportunities to important border crossings and cargo distribution centers in Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries." He said. For example, food from Kazakhstan can be exported to Western Europe or China through train services; The survey in Kyrgyzstan was surprising to find that "so many people are interested in co building the" the Belt and Road "initiative and strive to join with local products and ideas". As an expert in the transportation and logistics industry, Nuohe continues to pay attention to and study the benefits of the "the Belt and Road" initiative for all countries. In 2012, he was officially employed as a visiting professor in the key laboratory of "Food Logistics Equipment Technology Research" in Zhejiang Province. For more than a decade, he has actively advocated international scientific and technological cooperation along the "the Belt and Road" and Sino German scientific and technological innovation cooperation. Nuohe said that he saw a good opportunity for win-win cooperation and prosperity and development from the "the Belt and Road" initiative. (Lai Xin She)
