The report states that detecting enemy drones is currently one of the most important tasks in the special military operation zone. Russian experts have proposed various countermeasures for this, including anti drone systems that can detect any type of drone through both radio frequency and sound. At present, the Ukrainian armed forces use a large number of various types of drones on the combat contact line, ranging from heavy drones capable of carrying multiple landmines called "witches" to small reconnaissance drones capable of hovering over the battlefield and transmitting data in real-time. In addition, the Ukrainian military has recently begun actively using FPV drones to attack armored vehicles and Russian defense fortifications. Experts explain that detecting small drones is a very challenging task. They are small in size and mostly made of plastic, making it difficult for air defense radar stations to detect them. They are also almost invisible in thermal imagers because their electric motors are powered by batteries and hardly emit heat. To counter such drones, the Talamho Design Bureau located in Grozny, Russia has developed for the first time the "Malik" acoustic detector, which can detect any type of drone through sound regardless of the radio frequency used by the enemy. Research and development personnel pointed out that the enemy has been constantly changing the radio frequency of drone operation to avoid anti drone reconnaissance. They said: "The Ukrainians use 720-730 MHz instead. At present, there is no widely used UAV identification equipment for this frequency. However, no matter what frequency is used, the UAV will still make a sound during operation. The 'buzz' sounds of different UAVs are slightly different under different circumstances, so Russia has collected a UAV sound signal feature library and uploaded them to the server. People using the 'Malik' detector can automatically supplement the signal list and get the warning of approaching drones in time by connecting them to the Internet." According to the research and development personnel, "Malik" has two models. A type aimed at protecting air raid shelters, trenches, and vehicles. Another type is the mini version, hanging on a bulletproof vest. This acoustic detector provides valuable time, allowing soldiers at least some time to disperse and hide between discovering and being attacked by drones, in order to avoid causing significant losses. The Malik detector can also detect rangefinders, anti tank missile lasers, and sniper scopes. The R&D personnel said, "Testing has been conducted.
