With the improvement of people's living standards and the enhancement of health awareness, more and more consumers are accustomed to purchasing bottled or barreled water in their daily lives. Mineral water, natural water, distilled water... There are many different types of drinking water on the market, which are eye-catching. What are the differences between these different names of water? Bottled water and bottled water on the market belong to packaged drinking water. Currently, common packaged drinking water can be generally divided into three categories: purified water, natural water or natural spring water, and mineral water. Purified water for drinking refers to water that meets the hygiene standards for drinking water and is processed using distillation, electrodialysis, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, or other appropriate water purification processes. Distilled water on the market also belongs to pure water. Purified water removes harmful components such as bacteria, viruses, heavy metal elements, and organic matter from the water during the treatment process. It has low hardness and a good taste, and can be consumed directly without forming scale when boiling water. But during the processing, beneficial minerals such as potassium, calcium, and zinc for humans were also removed. Natural water/natural spring water: Drinking natural water and drinking natural spring water are both made from natural sources of water that have not been through the public water supply system. The difference is that natural water can come from wells, mountain springs, reservoirs, lakes, or high mountain icebergs, while natural spring water can only come from underground springs. These two types of water only require minimal treatment (such as filtration, ozone, or equivalent treatment), which removes impurities and harmful substances from the water while retaining the original beneficial minerals and trace elements for humans. The composition and proportion of mineral elements in natural water/spring water from different water sources vary, and there are also certain differences in taste and water quality. When we talk about mineral water in our daily lives, it mainly refers to drinking natural mineral water. Drinking natural mineral water is water that naturally gushes out from deep underground or is collected through drilling, containing a certain amount of minerals, trace elements, or other components. It is not contaminated in a certain area and preventive measures are taken to avoid pollution; Under normal circumstances, its dynamic indicators such as chemical composition, flow rate, and water temperature are relatively stable within the natural cycle fluctuation range. Mineral water essentially belongs to natural water, but natural water may not necessarily be mineral water. Mineral water must be deep groundwater, and its mineral or carbon dioxide content must meet one or more of the limit indicators in national standards. Generally speaking, mineral water has stable water quality, low microbial content, and contains a certain amount of minerals and trace elements required by the human body, such as zinc, selenium, strontium, etc. That is to say, identifying various packaged drinking water depends on its water source and implementation standards. From the perspective of water sources, the source of pure water comes from public or non-public water supply, while the source of natural water, natural spring water, and mineral water comes from non-public water supply. From a standard perspective, purified water, natural water, and natural spring water comply with the National Food Safety Standard for Packaged Drinking Water (GB 19298-2014), while natural mineral water complies with the National Food Safety Standard for Drinking Natural Mineral Water (GB 8537-2018). Different packaging of drinking water has different water quality and taste due to the different components it contains
