Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Resolutely Promoting the Ten Year Fishing Ban on the Yangtze River" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions"). The Opinion points out that the ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River is an important decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council for the overall plan and for the benefit of future generations. It is an important measure to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and restore the vitality of the mother river of the Yangtze River. Over the past three years of fishing bans, there has been strong support for the resettlement of retired fishermen, stable management of prohibited water areas, and positive recovery of aquatic biological resources. The ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River has achieved significant phased results. The Opinion emphasizes that relevant departments in various regions should effectively improve their political stance, regard the ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River as a major political task for the current and future periods, optimize and improve work coordination mechanisms, and strengthen supervision and promotion; We need to strengthen dynamic and precise monitoring, track and provide employment assistance, continue to implement pension insurance policies, and continue to provide adequate resettlement guarantees; To improve the law enforcement cooperation mechanism, strengthen cross regional and cross departmental law enforcement cooperation, maintain a high-pressure and strict management situation, eliminate the hidden dangers of illegal fishing, crack down on illegal fishing, strengthen law enforcement capacity building, and continuously strengthen law enforcement supervision; We need to strengthen the protection of rare and endangered species, carry out important habitat restoration, strengthen resource investigation and monitoring, strengthen the prevention and control of alien species, and accelerate the promotion of ecological restoration.
