On March 17th, in order to promote the precise integration of technology upgrading needs between universities and industry leading enterprises, accelerate the formation and development of new quality productivity, the 2024 China Thousand Schools and Ten Thousand Enterprises Collaborative Innovation Promotion Conference was held in Beijing. This promotion meeting organized 21 key universities in China, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhejiang University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, to release more than 1500 major scientific and technological innovation achievements, including Peking University's cancer diagnosis and treatment integrated chip, Tsinghua University's biodegradable new material PHA synthesis technology, and industrial projects such as Xi'an Jiaotong University's hydrogen energy. Five regional governments and industrial parks have released over 1100 demands for innovation in artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, biopharmaceutical industry clusters, and collaborative research and development of enterprise technologies, achieving over 800 technology supply-demand connections. It is understood that in 2022, the Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China National Intellectual Property Administration and other relevant departments, will take the lead in organizing and implementing the action of "thousands of schools and thousands of enterprises". The action aims to serve the construction of a new development pattern, revolves around promoting the deep integration of schools and enterprises, proposes the "seven batches" key tasks, and promotes the strengthening of industry academia research cooperation between universities and leading enterprises, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. The "Thousand Schools and Ten Thousand Enterprises" action plan utilizes a 5-year period to organize and promote the high-quality development of more than 1000 universities to support and serve more than 10000 enterprises. In order to establish a long-term mechanism for collaborative innovation among thousands of schools and enterprises, and promote organized and normalized docking between enterprises and universities, the China Thousand Schools and Ten Thousand Enterprises Collaborative Innovation Platform has been established. Lei Chaozi, Executive Vice President of the China Association for Promoting Industry University Research Cooperation, stated that compared to the large and extensive spontaneous cooperation between university scientific and technological personnel and enterprises in the past, organized school enterprise cooperation can form interdisciplinary and cross domain upstream, midstream, and downstream linkage teams. Targeting key core technologies, common technologies, and "bottleneck" issues in the industry, it can solve major problems in the development of the industry, rather than general technical problems, effectively promote industrial iteration and upgrading, and enhance the international core competitiveness of enterprises.
