Yancheng Port is a regional important port that plays a unique role in the high-level opening-up of coastal areas to the outside world. Jiangsu Mobile Yancheng Branch is building a smart port system for Yancheng Port, relying on the low latency, large bandwidth, and efficient transmission capabilities of the mobile 5G private network to provide intelligent applications such as unmanned horizontal transportation, port machine remote control applications, and port and navigation data applications for the port area, helping to build a green, low-carbon, and smart port. As the customs of the world's largest country in goods trade, China's customs inspect the largest amount of goods annually, with the most diverse scenarios and the most complete models. On March 14th, at a regular press conference held by the General Administration of Customs, relevant officials stated that the construction of smart customs in 2024 has entered a comprehensive implementation stage, and the customs will focus on building nine landmark projects to promote customs supervision services to become more "intelligent" and "automatic", providing strong support for China's transformation from a trading power to a trading power. Lin Shaobin, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Business Department of the General Administration of Customs, said that in recent years, global scientific and technological innovation has entered an unprecedented intensive and active period. With the development of the digital economy and digital technology, smart innovation with data as the highlight has driven the transformation of social production modes, the reconstruction of production relations, breakthrough growth in productivity, and significant changes in lifestyle, profoundly changing the way international trade is conducted. The rapid development of a series of new technologies such as big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things has provided new ways and means for customs supervision services, providing strong technical support. Lin Shaobin said that the customs will use digital technology as a leading force in innovation driven development, promote the comprehensive and systematic transformation and upgrading of customs supervision concepts, institutional mechanisms, and business models, build a new form of customs supervision services that are networked, interconnected, digital perception, intelligent analysis, and automated operation, and create a safe, convenient, and efficient new ecosystem of customs intelligent governance. "The construction of smart customs is not only a reform and innovation of customs business, but also a test of customs' technological capabilities. We will continue to strengthen and explore the application of technological innovation in different customs business scenarios." Chen Zongwang, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Development Department of the General Administration of Customs, said that the construction of smart customs should fully play the supporting and leading role of technological innovation. For example, by using intelligent image review to identify multiple commodities, we can effectively cope with the 24-hour uninterrupted work mode, reduce the pressure of frontline supervision, and enhance the precise supervision capabilities of ports. For example, intelligent identification technology for intellectual property trademarks can quickly search for trademark information in the intellectual property filing system online and identify infringing trademarks. In recent years, the customs has continuously promoted digital transformation and intelligent upgrading, optimized regulatory services, and assisted in the construction of the international logistics system, promoting high-level opening-up to the outside world. Du Hongwei, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Business Department of the General Administration of Customs, said that in order to further promote high-level opening-up to the outside world, the customs will mainly focus on three aspects of work: strengthening multilateral and bilateral cooperation. Jointly carrying out the "Smart Customs" cooperation project with the World Customs Organization, actively promoting the "Smart Customs Partnership Initiative" under the framework of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), deepening cooperation with customs inspection and quarantine mechanisms of neighboring countries such as Central Asia and ASEAN, and advancing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCE) agreement
